Is there any Defensive men in the minors that could play any better?

Pitt already has 3...Olesky, Ruhdewahl, Warsofsky, and we all know what DP is like. You really arent going to get more than that at the moment.

Tim Erixon would be the next one to go up after those 4, then its a bunch of unprovens like Prow, Percy Gaunce etc.

Little bit of a wakeup call for the Capitals, I still think they're the best team in the league though.

I think Ruhwedel is doing well. Olesky is trash however. He doesn't belong on NHL ice.

How can you write about this game and not mention Hornqvist? He tried to hurt Oshie and it helped the Penguins win the game. Without that 4 on 4 jump start we lose that game. Violence in hockey is the answer.

We've lost every high pedigree defensive prospect. We've restocked with basically Conor Sheary type prospects. In Sheary's case he became a top 6 winger, but every guy we have in the minors is a major project type. Sign a half dozen of them and hope someone pans out.

Pretty much, but on a more positive note, we dont have that issue with forwards or goaltenders, so that allows GMJR to focus on sureing up our defense. I just hope he doesnt go all Shero on us though. Not that I think he will haha.

If Olesky didn't fight and was one year younger than Ruhwedel and played exactly the same you all would love him.

I would love Olesky if he could fight AND play hockey. Unfortunately he's not good at the hockey part.

If I had to play one of them I would play Olesky. They are the same hockey wise, Olesky adds more fun to the game.

Didn't get to watch the game but I do have to admit that it's disturbing what people consider entertaining hockey these days. Sure there was some exciting offensive plays and a lot of goals scored but from the highlights I've seen it looks like A LOT of bad hockey led to much of that excitement. If bad hockey that leads to a ton of goals is what leads people to be entertained the sport of hockey is in a lot of trouble. Give me a fast-paced, highly-skilled 3-2 or 4-3 game with good play on both sides of the ice with great goaltending over what happened last night any day of the week.

Not really, Oleksy takes dumb penalties that put the Pens shorthanded. Ruhwedel does not. And with the Pens having a poopty PK this season... dumb penalties are the last thing they want to take.
